IWW, CIO, AFL seems like it belong larger about the creation and impact of labor unions. This topic also seems like it could merge with the "Labor Laws prior to 1913" topic to give the full sense of it. The Department of Labor should also probably be part of this topic.
ReplyDeleteInstead of the Department of labor as a topic, you alsol list "labor violence" and "worker safety". These could be two separate topics on their own. The Haymarket Riot would help get you started in the labor violence topic and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire would get you started in the worker safety category.
For the topic of labor in the Great Depression, make sure you examine the labor related New Deal programs as well as the strikes and violence that existed.
Not required but you could also examine more current labor related affairs (i.e. the air traffic controllers strike in the 1980's or current teacher strikes that exist).
